January, 2022

This month, I am back in the studio, rehearsing my solo for an upcoming performance at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) Boston, March 18-20. This new piece culminates all I’ve learned up to the moment in my NOURISH research. I’ve been resourcing connections - with fertile soil, with powerful memories, and with other people, as a means to share empowering movements in the body. I’ve been asking myself and others to tune their awareness to fertile environments, to untold histories, to their own most transformative realizations. These specific experiences help us to sense, feel, and move better. My solo begins with a knowing which I share with the audience through my attention, the fragments of experience, and shifting shape in space and time. Tickets for the concert are available here. My exact performance date will be determined soon!

January is North American Choreographers Month, and I’m psyched to be back working with NACHMO Boston as a mentor and participant in support of making new dances.

Boston Art Review posted online access to the wonderful profile Ilya Vidrin wrote about my work. I am so honored to be a part of the publication, which you can now read online!

I’ve been applying for more grants, fellowships, and residencies for the upcoming year. I served on grant panels, where I learned a bit about how other artists write about their dances, and how other artists review grants. I teamed up wit Monkeyhouse to give a public talk about my work on YouTube.

I recently completed my first fundraiser campaign, thanks to the guidance and support of over 50 donors! Thank you to everyone who contributed to keep my dance practices going; I’m so heartened to have you with me in this work.

Lexington Community Farm and I will be partnering together in 2022; I will return to LexFarm as Artist in Residence with a new iteration of NOURISH. Stay tuned to learn more about what this year’s growing season will entail.

I’m thrilled to have been invited to teach NOURISH in new spaces, for new communities! Please contact me if your organization is interested in movement based practices to help people orient to their inner well being, relative to their environment.
