How can we integrate dance into our daily lives?
Without going to the theater, a dance class, or boogieing to your favorite songs, I’m teaching people to recognize the dance in their regular activities.
There’s choreography in the walk from your bed to the kitchen table to your at-home workspace.
Each locale evokes a different use of your mind and body.
I want people to appreciate and acknowledge the art within these moments.
Embodied dancing is about our use of attention. It doesn’t require training, and it isn’t for social encounters, or for entertainment.
How does it feel to engage with that sense of vulnerability when you see yourself the moment you log into Zoom?
Or when you write an email, and you found just the right words - where in your body does that competency show up?
If you hurt yourself recently or as a child - how has the healing from your injury exist in the way you carry yourself today?
When a loved one dies, how does our posture, thinking, and perception - hence our connection to the world change?
There’s a story and movement in these places and experiences; and power in understanding your dance.
